Azienda Agrituristica Petrolo

A fun place for everyone to enjoy. See and pet the donkeys and tour their farm. Watch as their milk is collected for use in soaps, cooking and just to drink. For many centuries the milk has been valued for its disease prevention and its skin softening properties. Come and enjoy a few hours with the donkeys!

Gli Aromi

Located just a few minutes from Scicli but very worth the time to visit is Gli Aromi, a vivaio dei erbe or as we say in English, “the best little herb farm in Scicli”. If you can arrange a private tour with Enrico, whose family has owned and operated the business for many years, you will be treated to his vast knowledge of herbs and other plants that they raise. Enrico speaks wonderful English and a visit to his family’s farm will leave you amazed as well as educated. Enrico and his soon to be wife Rita, sometimes hold special events at the vivaio so be sure visit their website and sign up for their newsletter so you will know when the next event is held.

Sunday visits by appointment only. It is possible to book a visit by phone, at least with 24 hours notice. The visits take place only between 8am and 12pm.

Museo del Costume

Opened to visitors since 2007, the Museum of Costume is situated on the ground floor of a former convent on Mormina Penna Street in the historical centre of Scicli, which is a UNESCO town. The Museum is made up of 6 sections which are updated periodically, offering a complete historical frame of the costumes in the Hyblean area supplied with documentary evidence and, also generally, regarding Sicily and the Mediterranean territory.

Chiesa di San Giovanni Evangelista

This beautiful church is located in the heart of Scicli and situated very close to "Montalbano's office". Beautifully restored!

The construction of the Church began between 1760 and 1765, under the direction of architect Between Alberto Maria di San Giovanni Battista, ScicliCarmelite, although there are elements that lead to the engineer's Vincenzo Sinatra architectures of Known. In 1776 with the conclusion of the stuccoes by Giovanni Gianformafresco and of time, ended the construction work of the building. The latest interior decorations, such as stucco and gilding were operated in 1854.

La Fornace Penna

La Fornace Penna is a monument of industrial architecture and is located in contrada Pisciotto at Sampieri, frazione of the comune of Scicli , in the province of Ragusa.

In recent years, thanks to the charm of its ruins, la Fornace Penna has been used as a film set : "The Mánnara", as she was the town where the factory, in an episode of the television drama Inspector Montalbano.

Chiesa di San Matteo

A church existed in the early Middle Ages in the same spot of the present building, which was represented by paintings and etchings preserved in several churches of Scicli depicting the colle di San Matteo, with the Church and the soaring Bell Tower located behind the apses.
